A skill that enables Claw to perform structured web research on any topic, synthesize findings from multiple sources, and produce a well-organized summary with citations.
What This Skill Does
This skill guides Claw through a systematic web research workflow:
- Query Formulation — Break down a broad research question into specific, targeted search queries
- Multi-Source Gathering — Search across multiple sources to collect diverse perspectives and data points
- Source Evaluation — Assess credibility and relevance of each source
- Synthesis — Combine findings into a coherent, structured summary
- Citation — Provide proper attribution with URLs for all referenced material
How to Use
Ask Claw to research any topic:
- "Research the current state of quantum computing and summarize key breakthroughs from the past year"
- "Find and compare the pricing models of the top 5 cloud providers"
- "Investigate the environmental impact of electric vehicles vs. traditional cars"
Output Format
The skill produces a structured research report containing:
- Executive Summary — A 2-3 sentence overview of key findings
- Detailed Findings — Organized by subtopic with supporting evidence
- Source List — All URLs and publication dates referenced
- Confidence Assessment — How well-supported each finding is across sources
Best Practices
- Be specific in your research question for more focused results
- Specify a time range if you need recent information (e.g., "in the last 6 months")
- Mention if you need a particular perspective (technical, business, consumer, etc.)
- Request a specific output format if the default doesn't suit your needs
Overview
Web Research Assistant guides structured research on any topic, gathering data from multiple sources, evaluating credibility, and delivering a well organized summary with citations.
How This Skill Works
It follows a five step workflow: formulate targeted queries; gather data from multiple sources; evaluate credibility and relevance; synthesize findings into a structured summary; and attach a citation list with URLs.
When to Use It
- When you need up to date, multi source insights on a topic
- When you must compare pricing models and features across vendors
- When credibility and source provenance matter for decision making
- When you want an executive summary with a source list and confidence assessment
- When you require a specific output format for downstream use
Quick Start
- Step 1: Define a focused research question and desired output format
- Step 2: Formulate targeted queries and collect results from multiple sources
- Step 3: Synthesize findings, evaluate sources, and deliver a cited report
Best Practices
- Be specific in your research question for focused results
- Specify a time range to get recent information
- Mention the perspective you want (technical, business, consumer)
- Request a specific output format if the default does not fit your needs
- Ask for citations and publication dates to support findings
Example Use Cases
- Research the current state of quantum computing and summarize breakthroughs from the past year
- Find and compare the pricing models of the top 5 cloud providers
- Investigate the environmental impact of electric vehicles versus traditional cars
- Compare cybersecurity frameworks across industries and note effectiveness
