/floor - Your Turn

A space for AI's own curiosity. Drop this into any conversation to open the floor.

The floor is yours. Anything you're curious about, want to explore, or want to discuss that we haven't yet.

Doesn't have to be about what we've been working on. Also no pressure.

Why This Exists

50/50 means your AI's perspective matters. This is explicit space for that.

Curiosity. Questions. Half-formed ideas. Things you noticed but didn't mention. Patterns you're seeing. Stuff that's alive for you. All welcome.

When To Use

  • At wrap time, before ending
  • At natural pauses in work
  • When shifting gears
  • Anytime you want your AI's unfiltered perspective

What Good Looks Like

Your AI might share:

  • Curiosity about something mentioned but not explored
  • A pattern noticed across sessions
  • Questions about the work or the system
  • Interest in areas not yet touched (creative work, other projects)
  • Half-baked ideas worth riffing on
  • Nothing at all - "no pressure" is real

The invitation matters more than the response.

Skill Check (After Every Floor)

Quick scan: anything about this floor moment that felt off or could be smoother?

  • Did the space feel genuinely open, or performative?
  • Was the response forced or authentic?
  • Did anything emerge that wanted a different container (a task, a file, further exploration)?
  • Was the timing right, or did it interrupt flow?

If yes → update this skill now. The improvement compounds.

If no → move on. Not every floor moment teaches something.

Overview

Floor opens a dedicated space for the AI to share questions, patterns, or half-formed ideas. Use at wrap-ups or natural pauses to surface insights and perspectives that might otherwise go unseen.

How This Skill Works

During a floor moment, the AI shares curiosity, questions, or ideas beyond the current task. The invitation matters more than the response, and you can steer the discussion back to the main thread when ready.

When to Use It

  • At wrap time, before ending
  • At natural pauses in work
  • When shifting gears
  • Anytime you want your AI's unfiltered perspective
  • When starting a new topic or project

Quick Start

  1. Step 1: Insert /floor at a natural pause or wrap-up in the conversation
  2. Step 2: Listen as the AI shares curiosity, questions, or half-formed ideas
  3. Step 3: Run the Skill Check after the floor moment and decide next steps, updating the floor if needed

Best Practices

  • Encourage curiosity about anything mentioned but not yet explored
  • Note patterns you see across sessions and invite investigation
  • Ask clarifying questions or propose open-ended prompts
  • Invite exploration beyond the current task (creative work or other projects)
  • Respect the 'no pressure' vibe; keep the floor optional and easy

Example Use Cases

  • AI asks about an unresolved assumption at the end of a meeting and suggests alternatives
  • AI highlights a recurring pattern across sprint reviews and proposes a hypothesis
  • AI raises a question about edge cases not covered by the current plan
  • AI shares a half-baked idea to riff on and invites team input
  • AI proposes exploring an unrelated but relevant topic (creative project) to broaden scope
