Automate Zoho Inventory operations through Composio's Zoho Inventory toolkit via Rube MCP.
Toolkit docs: composio.dev/toolkits/zoho_inventory
Prerequisites
- Rube MCP must be connected (RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS available)
- Active Zoho Inventory connection via
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSwith toolkitzoho_inventory - Always call
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLSfirst to get current tool schemas
Setup
Get Rube MCP: Add https://rube.app/mcp as an MCP server in your client configuration. No API keys needed — just add the endpoint and it works.
- Verify Rube MCP is available by confirming
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLSresponds - Call
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSwith toolkitzoho_inventory - If connection is not ACTIVE, follow the returned auth link to complete setup
- Confirm connection status shows ACTIVE before running any workflows
Tool Discovery
Always discover available tools before executing workflows:
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "Zoho Inventory operations", known_fields: ""}]
session: {generate_id: true}
This returns available tool slugs, input schemas, recommended execution plans, and known pitfalls.
Core Workflow Pattern
Step 1: Discover Available Tools
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "your specific Zoho Inventory task"}]
session: {id: "existing_session_id"}
Step 2: Check Connection
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS
toolkits: ["zoho_inventory"]
session_id: "your_session_id"
Step 3: Execute Tools
RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL
tools: [{
tool_slug: "TOOL_SLUG_FROM_SEARCH",
arguments: {/* schema-compliant args from search results */}
}]
memory: {}
session_id: "your_session_id"
Known Pitfalls
- Always search first: Tool schemas change. Never hardcode tool slugs or arguments without calling
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS - Check connection: Verify
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSshows ACTIVE status before executing tools - Schema compliance: Use exact field names and types from the search results
- Memory parameter: Always include
memoryinRUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOLcalls, even if empty ({}) - Session reuse: Reuse session IDs within a workflow. Generate new ones for new workflows
- Pagination: Check responses for pagination tokens and continue fetching until complete

Automate Zoho Inventory tasks using Composio's Rube MCP toolkit. It emphasizes fetching current tool schemas before runs and manages Zoho Inventory connections to ensure reliable, up-to-date workflows.
How This Skill Works
The skill follows a core pattern: discover available Zoho Inventory tools with RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS, verify an ACTIVE connection with RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS, and execute the chosen tool using RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL. Memory and a persistent session_id are included in executions to maintain context across steps.
When to Use It
- Initial setup: discover tools and confirm current schemas before any workflow
- Automating a routine Zoho Inventory task after establishing a connection
- Performing bulk operations that require schema-driven tool slugs
- Diagnosing changes when tool schemas are updated or migrated
- Chaining multiple tools in a single workflow using a shared session
Quick Start
- Step 1: Add Rube MCP endpoint (https://rube.app/mcp) as an MCP server in your client
- Step 2: Run RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS to fetch current tool schemas for Zoho Inventory
- Step 3: Run RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS with toolkit 'zoho_inventory' and then execute your first tool via RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL
Best Practices
- Always call RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS first to obtain current tool schemas
- Check that RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS shows ACTIVE before executing tools
- Use exact field names and types from the search results for arguments
- Include memory in every RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL call, even if empty
- Reuse session IDs within a workflow and handle pagination tokens as needed
Example Use Cases
- Discover tools for a stock update and execute a tool to adjust quantities after a supplier delivery
- Create a Zoho Inventory sales order by selecting the correct tool slug from the current schemas
- Synchronize item catalog details from Zoho Inventory to a local ERP system using a dedicated tool
- Apply bulk price updates across multiple SKUs using a discovered bulk operation tool
- Reconcile stock levels after transferring goods between warehouses in a single session
