Nasdaq Automation via Rube MCP

Automate Nasdaq operations through Composio's Nasdaq toolkit via Rube MCP.

Toolkit docs: composio.dev/toolkits/nasdaq

Prerequisites

  • Rube MCP must be connected (RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS available)
  • Active Nasdaq connection via RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS with toolkit nasdaq
  • Always call RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS first to get current tool schemas

Setup

Get Rube MCP: Add https://rube.app/mcp as an MCP server in your client configuration. No API keys needed — just add the endpoint and it works.

  1. Verify Rube MCP is available by confirming RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS responds
  2. Call RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS with toolkit nasdaq
  3. If connection is not ACTIVE, follow the returned auth link to complete setup
  4. Confirm connection status shows ACTIVE before running any workflows

Tool Discovery

Always discover available tools before executing workflows:

RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "Nasdaq operations", known_fields: ""}]
session: {generate_id: true}

This returns available tool slugs, input schemas, recommended execution plans, and known pitfalls.

Core Workflow Pattern

Step 1: Discover Available Tools

RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "your specific Nasdaq task"}]
session: {id: "existing_session_id"}

Step 2: Check Connection

RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS
toolkits: ["nasdaq"]
session_id: "your_session_id"

Step 3: Execute Tools

RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL
tools: [{
  tool_slug: "TOOL_SLUG_FROM_SEARCH",
  arguments: {/* schema-compliant args from search results */}
}]
memory: {}
session_id: "your_session_id"

Known Pitfalls

  • Always search first: Tool schemas change. Never hardcode tool slugs or arguments without calling RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
  • Check connection: Verify RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS shows ACTIVE status before executing tools
  • Schema compliance: Use exact field names and types from the search results
  • Memory parameter: Always include memory in RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL calls, even if empty ({})
  • Session reuse: Reuse session IDs within a workflow. Generate new ones for new workflows
  • Pagination: Check responses for pagination tokens and continue fetching until complete

Overview

Automates Nasdaq operations through Composio's Nasdaq toolkit using Rube MCP. It emphasizes discovering current tool schemas before running workflows and verifying an active Nasdaq connection to prevent failures.

How This Skill Works

First query Nasdaq tool schemas with RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS to learn available tools and their inputs. Then verify an active Nasdaq connection with RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS. Finally, execute the chosen tool via RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL, passing the required arguments and memory payload, and reuse the session_id.

When to Use It

  • You need to perform a Nasdaq operation and must fetch current tool schemas first.
  • Setting up and validating a Nasdaq connection before automation to ensure ACTIVE status.
  • Discover tools for a specific Nasdaq task, then execute with exact input fields from the schema.
  • Run a session-based workflow that reuses session IDs while executing multiple Nasdaq tools.
  • Handle tool schema updates and pagination by re-searching tools before execution and continuing fetches until complete.

Quick Start

  1. Step 1: Get Rube MCP by adding https://rube.app/mcp as an MCP server in your client configuration.
  2. Step 2: Verify availability with RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS.
  3. Step 3: Discover tools, verify connection, then execute with RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL using a session_id and memory.

Best Practices

  • Always call RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS before selecting or calling a tool.
  • Check RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS shows ACTIVE before executing workflows.
  • Use exact field names and types from the tool schemas; avoid hardcoding slugs.
  • Include memory in RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL calls, even if empty.
  • Reuse session IDs within a workflow and paginate tool searches if needed.

Example Use Cases

  • Discover Nasdaq 'get_quotes' tools, then fetch real-time quotes for AAPL and MSFT.
  • Establish a Nasdaq connection and run a feed-update workflow using the toolkit.
  • Batch-process multiple Nasdaq tasks in a single session to save auth steps.
  • Update an automation if the discovered tool schemas change, instead of hardcoding slugs.
  • Fetch all available Nasdaq tools with RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS and handle pagination until complete.
