Breezy HR Automation via Rube MCP

Automate Breezy HR operations through Composio's Breezy HR toolkit via Rube MCP.

Toolkit docs: composio.dev/toolkits/breezy_hr

Prerequisites

  • Rube MCP must be connected (RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS available)
  • Active Breezy HR connection via RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS with toolkit breezy_hr
  • Always call RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS first to get current tool schemas

Setup

Get Rube MCP: Add https://rube.app/mcp as an MCP server in your client configuration. No API keys needed — just add the endpoint and it works.

  1. Verify Rube MCP is available by confirming RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS responds
  2. Call RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS with toolkit breezy_hr
  3. If connection is not ACTIVE, follow the returned auth link to complete setup
  4. Confirm connection status shows ACTIVE before running any workflows

Tool Discovery

Always discover available tools before executing workflows:

RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "Breezy HR operations", known_fields: ""}]
session: {generate_id: true}

This returns available tool slugs, input schemas, recommended execution plans, and known pitfalls.

Core Workflow Pattern

Step 1: Discover Available Tools

RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "your specific Breezy HR task"}]
session: {id: "existing_session_id"}

Step 2: Check Connection

RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS
toolkits: ["breezy_hr"]
session_id: "your_session_id"

Step 3: Execute Tools

RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL
tools: [{
  tool_slug: "TOOL_SLUG_FROM_SEARCH",
  arguments: {/* schema-compliant args from search results */}
}]
memory: {}
session_id: "your_session_id"

Known Pitfalls

  • Always search first: Tool schemas change. Never hardcode tool slugs or arguments without calling RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
  • Check connection: Verify RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS shows ACTIVE status before executing tools
  • Schema compliance: Use exact field names and types from the search results
  • Memory parameter: Always include memory in RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL calls, even if empty ({})
  • Session reuse: Reuse session IDs within a workflow. Generate new ones for new workflows
  • Pagination: Check responses for pagination tokens and continue fetching until complete

Overview

This skill automates Breezy HR operations through Composio's Breezy HR toolkit, powered by Rube MCP. It emphasizes discovering current tool schemas before execution and requires an active Breezy HR connection and a connected Rube MCP setup.

How This Skill Works

It starts by discovering available Breezy HR tools with RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS, then checks the Breezy HR connection via RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS. When ready, it runs the selected tool with RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL, always including a memory payload and preserving a session_id for continuity.

When to Use It

  • Automate Breezy HR workflows (e.g., candidate creation, status updates) via Rube MCP.
  • When Breezy HR tool schemas may change, always fetch current schemas first.
  • When you need to verify the Breezy HR connection is ACTIVE before running workflows.
  • When you want to chain multiple Breezy HR tools in a single automation.
  • When performing bulk Breezy HR operations using the Breezy toolkit and RUBE_REMOTE_WORKBENCH.

Quick Start

  1. Step 1: Ensure RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS is available and Breezy HR connection is ACTIVE.
  2. Step 2: Discover tools with RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS for Breezy HR use_case.
  3. Step 3: Execute a chosen tool with RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL, including memory and session_id.

Best Practices

  • Always call RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS to fetch current Breezy HR tool schemas before every workflow.
  • Verify RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS shows ACTIVE status prior to tool execution.
  • Use exact field names and types from the search results; do not hardcode slugs or arg schemas.
  • Always include a memory object in RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL calls (even if empty).
  • Reuse session IDs within a single workflow and generate new ones for separate runs.

Example Use Cases

  • Discover tools for Breezy HR, connect via breezy_hr, then run 'create_candidate' with the required fields.
  • Update a candidate's stage by discovering the appropriate tool, validating schema, and executing the tool with memory and session.
  • Execute a sequence of Breezy HR tools in one session to onboard a hire, reusing the session_id.
  • Perform bulk updates by using RUBE_REMOTE_WORKBENCH to run multiple Breezy HR tools from a single workflow.
  • Paginate tool schemas with RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS to ensure you have all available Breezy HR operations.
