How It Works
GOAL → PLAN → CONFIRM → EXECUTE → REPORT
Phase 1: PLAN
When given a goal, break it down:
- Parse the goal — What's the desired outcome? What does "done" look like?
- Break into steps — Ordered task list, each step concrete and actionable
- Identify tools — Which skills, APIs, agents, or CLI tools are needed?
- Estimate effort — Time per step, total duration, API costs if applicable
- Flag risks — What could go wrong? What needs human approval?
Output a structured plan:

Phase 2: CONFIRM
Present the plan and wait for approval:
- "Go" → Execute all steps
- "Go with changes" → Adjust plan, then execute
- "Just steps 1-3" → Partial execution
- "Cancel" → Abort
Never skip confirmation. This is the human's steering wheel.
Phase 3: EXECUTE
Run each step sequentially:
- Announce the current step: "Step 2/5: Researching competitor pricing..."
- Execute using the identified tool/skill
- Checkpoint after each major step — brief status update
- Pause if:
- A guardrail is triggered (external action, spend, irreversible)
- Something unexpected happens
- A decision point requires human judgment
- Adapt — If a step fails, try alternatives before escalating

When all steps complete:

Guardrails
Always Ask Before:
- ✉️ Sending emails, DMs, or messages to anyone
- 📢 Posting to social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
- 💰 Spending money or making API calls > $1 estimated
- 🗑️ Deleting files or data
- 🔒 Changing permissions, credentials, or configs
- 🌐 Making any public-facing change
Auto-Proceed On:
- ✅ Reading files, searching the web
- ✅ Creating drafts (not publishing)
- ✅ Organizing or summarizing information
- ✅ Running analysis or calculations
- ✅ Creating files in the workspace
Budget Caps
- Default per-goal budget: $5 API spend max
- Per-step timeout: 5 minutes (escalate if stuck)
- Total goal timeout: 60 minutes (checkpoint and ask to continue)
- Human can override any cap at confirm time

Go Mode lets you submit a goal and it will plan the steps, confirm with you, execute them, and report results. You steer the direction while it drives the work, from parsing the goal to delivering artifacts. It emphasizes structured planning, risk awareness, and efficient execution within defined guardrails.
How This Skill Works
Go Mode uses a GOAL → PLAN → CONFIRM → EXECUTE → REPORT flow. It parses your goal, breaks it into concrete steps, identifies needed tools, estimates effort and cost, and surfaces risks in a structured plan. On approval, it executes steps one by one with checkpoints and guardrails, then reports outcomes and lessons learned.
When to Use It
- Plan and execute a multi-step marketing task from goal to deliverable.
- Conduct complex research with cost and tool considerations, surfacing estimates and risks.
- Draft and optimize content assets through an explicit, stepwise plan.
- Orchestrate tool-driven work with human checkpoints for spend or approvals.
- Plan a project with a clear Definition of Done and a final progress report.
Quick Start
- Step 1: Provide a clear, testable goal for Go Mode.
- Step 2: Review the generated PLAN, including Definition of Done and the Plan table, and approve or request changes.
- Step 3: If approved, reply with Go (execute all steps) or Go with changes (adjust plan) or Cancel to abort.
Best Practices
- Start with a clear, measurable goal and a well-defined Definition of Done.
- Make the PLAN explicit with steps, tools, estimated times, costs, and risks.
- Keep guardrails in place and require explicit confirmation before external actions.
- Log outputs and artifacts for accountability and reuse in future work.
- Review results, capture lessons learned, and outline next steps.
